Valencia Basket opens 2021 with a clash of teams on a streak in Endesa League vs. Herbalife GC

Valencia Basket opens the year 2021 with its third Endesa League game in a row at Fonteta to host a Herbalife Gran Canaria on therise (Saturday 2, 8:45 p.m., Fonteta, Movistar Deportes) in a game corresponding to round 18 of the Endesa League.

 

Jaume Ponsarnau's men will try to keep alive an open streak that is the best in the Endesa League (where they chain five wins in a row that have consolidated them in the positions that give access to the Copa del Rey Madrid 2021) against a rival that took the triumph of La Fonteta in the last game of the Regular Season, but against which the taronja squad has good precedents at home.

 

A victory would not mathematically seal the presence of the taronja team in the Copa del Rey in any of the cases, but cutting the yellow streak and extending its own with a sixth consecutive win would be a giant step to be in the Copa del Rey.

 

With Louis Labeyrie already recovered to return to action and with Klemen Prepelic available despite having missed a practice due to a right ankle injury that did not prevent him from finishing the game on the TD Systems Baskonia court, Guillem Vives is hardly questionable (muscle contusion in the left thigh) for this game and maintains the absence of the long-term injured Vanja Marinkovic.

 

Valencia Basket currently occupies the seventh position in the Endesa League with a balance of 9-6 in the standings.
